New Service Area On I-87 Featuring Lots Of Amenities Opens In Hudson Valley
Motorists in need of a coffee or a pit stop can now enjoy that and a lot more at a new service area on I -87 in the Hudson Valley. The new service area in Ulster County, located in the town of Plattekill, (is now open to the public. The location is the sixth new service area to open on the New York State Thruway as part of the $450 million project to redevelop and modernize all 27 thruway service areas, said the New York State Thruway Authority. Standard Amusement, Former Planned Playland Operator, Files For Bankruptcy
The company that would have taken over control of Rye Playland filed for bankruptcy on the same day Westchester County terminated the contract for Standard Amusements to run the park. Standard Amusements filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week, weeks after Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced that he was ending their deal, which was the company’s largest source of revenue. Lawsuit Dismissed Over $60M Westchester Affordable Housing Development
The City of Mount Vernon and the developer of a multi-million dollar, 159-unit affordable housing complex have reached a settlement that will clear the way for the La Porte development in the heart of the city. Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas announced the dismissal of a lawsuit by developer Peter Fine of Manhattan-based Blue Rio LLC, who agreed to pay the city $300,000 and issued a public apology to Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas.
