New Bear Sightings Reported In Northern Westchester Have you seen it? There's a bear on the prowl near the border of Northern Westchester and Putnam. Peekskill Police dispatch said it's likely just one bear who was spotted multiple times Wednesday morning is moving around the area of Park Street. An animal control officer is making the bear is not bothering anyone, police said. Another bear, probably the same one, visited a home in Garrison (about eight miles north of Peekskill) on Tuesday.
