After reporting nearly 2,000 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, the numbers dipped in Westchester as the county continues seeing a decline in new infections.
The Westchester County Department of Health said that out of 10,522 COVID-19 tests administered on Monday, Feb. 1, there were 540 newly confirmed cases, with 65 still under evaluation.

Westchester saw nearly 2,000 new COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend following several days of decreasing numbers across the county last week.
Between Friday, Jan. 29, and Sunday, Jan. 31, the county reported 1,723 new COVID-19 cases, as the number of active cases dropped below 10,000 to 9,948.
There have now been 94,698 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Westchester since the pandemic began last year out of nearly 1.8 million tested. The 5.3 percent positive infection rate is among the lowest in the Hudson Valley.

Hundreds of new COVID-19 cases were reported in Westchester overnight as the virus continues to spread as rapidly as it did in the spring.
The state Department of Health was reporting 611 new COVID-19 cases in Westchester out of more than 10,000 tested on Thursday, Dec. 10.

The Westchester Department of Health is now monitoring nearly 8,500 active COVID-19 cases as the virus continues spreading throughout the county.
As of Thursday, Dec. 10, there are 8,408 (250 new) active COVID-19 cases in Westchester, County Executive George Latimer said during his latest COVID-19 briefing. That number is up from 7,830 on Monday, Dec. 7.

The number of active COVID-19 cases have caused some alarm for Westchester County Executive George Latimer, who compared the most recent data to the early spring when the virus was peaking in the area.
Over the weekend, Westchester had 1,662 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the year-to-date total up to 54,671, Latimer said during a COVID-19 briefing on Monday, Dec. 7.
