A stretch of I-95 in Connecticut has now fully reopened three days after a fire involving a tanker with 8,500 gallons of gas days earlier. Northbound lanes on the stretch in Norwalk reopened Saturday evening, May 4. Lanes opened on the southbound side reopened late Sunday morning, May 5, earlier than had been expected. Woman Hospitalized After Car Crashes Off Merritt Parkway A woman was hospitalized after her car crashed off the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County overnight. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 in Norwalk. When firefighters arrived with hospital paramedics and state police, the car, a Hyundai sedan, was found on its side, in a foot of water, between the parkway exit 40A ramp and the 1 Glover Avenue Condos, according to the Norwalk Fire Department. Tractor-Trailer Car Carrier, Vehicles On Board Becoming Fully Engulfed In Flames On I-95 Fire officials are investigating after a tractor-trailer car carrier became fully engulfed in flames on northbound Interstate 95 in Norwalk. Members of the Norwalk Fire Department responded Saturday, May 4 at around 2:30 p.m. to find fires on the truck with the cab as well as three vehicles on the carrier. A second fire engine and tankers from Darien and Norton Heights Fire Department were called to the scene.
