Alleged Crime Family Members, Associates From Westchester Charged With Racketeering
Alleged members of the Genovese Organized Crime Family from Westchester and Fairfield counties are facing racketeering charges for their roles within the organization.
Federal prosecutors announced that four members and two associates of the family have been charged with racketeering conspiracy involving illegal gambling and extortion.

He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Longtime Katonah Resident Carol Dreska, Office Manager, Dies At 52
An office manager in Fairfield County who grew up in and graduated from high school in Northern Westchester has died at age 52..
Carol L. Dreska, (nee Chiacchia) of Sherman, Connecticut, died Thursday, Aug. 15 at Lake Bomoseen, Vermont.
She was the office manager for Neves Electric in Brookfield.
Dreska was born on Feb. 27, 1967, in Mount Kisco, to the late Mario and Patsy Chiacchia. She grew up in Katonah and attended John Jay High School in Cross River.

He was traveling on North Broad Street in Peekskill, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Man Killed After Motorboat Capsizes In Candlewood Lake
A 48-year-old man was killed after he was dumped into Candlewood Lake in Brookfield when the 17-foot-boat he was in capsized.
Gary Hayes of East Hartford was killed around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, another man, Joseph Miranda, 29, of Manchester, survived, said Chris Collibee, spokesman for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
According to Collibee, after the boat capsized, Miranda, swam to shore to safety. Hayes was located in the water by EnCon police officers who responded to the scene. He was transported to Danbury Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
