New Superintendent Named At School District In Westchester After a six-week nationwide search process, a school district in Westchester has named a new superintendent who will be arriving from a district in a neighboring state.  The Mamaroneck Union Free School District has named Charles B. Sampson as its next superintendent, the district's school board announced on Tuesday, June 13.  When he begins his position on Wednesday, Nov. 1, Sampson will replace Robert Shaps, who will be retiring in December 2023, district officials said. Successful Financial Executive From Westchester Dies At Age 61 A native New Yorker who lived in the Boston area and was a successful financial executive has died at the age of 61. Suzanne Marie Irwin, of Charlestown, Massachusetts, who grew up in Westchester County, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 17, after 13-month illness with Glioblastoma, her obituary said. She grew up in Larchmont and graduated from Mamaroneck High School, according to her obituary. Brian Davidson was assistant principal at Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford who worked in the Bedford Central School District for 20 years. He also served as a guidance counselor during that time. Westchester HS Students Lead First Elementary School Robotics Competition Mamaroneck High School students Jordan Ramirez and Paul Pedrozo-- as part of their senior internship -- designed, organized and led the inaugural Elementary Robotics Competition this week.
