Driver Freed From Flipped Car On Busy Westchester Road
A driver had to be freed from their vehicle after it flipped and landed on a sidewalk alongside a busy Westchester road. The crash happened on Friday, Nov. 1, when a vehicle crashed on South Broadway (Route 9) in the village of Irvington-on-Hudson and became wedged between a telephone pole and a wall, according to Irvington EMS. Oh, deer. First responders in the area went through unusual measures to make a special save after a distressed deer found itself in a precarious position and in need of assistance. In Rockland County, officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to a North Pascack Road residence in the hamlet of Hillcrest at approximately noon on Monday, Dec. 13, where there was a report of a deer whose head was stuck in a fence in the area. One Driver Trapped In Head-On Northern Westchester Crash
A two-vehicle head-on crash trapped the driver of one vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place around 8:17 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at the intersection of Mahopac Avenue and Route 35 in Somers, said the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. The first units on the scene found the trapped driver, and with a crew of five using the Jaws of Life to remove the side of the vehicle, the driver was removed within eight minutes, the department said.
