SUV Goes Up In Flames On I-287 In Westchester A lane of a busy interstate in Westchester was temporarily blocked after flames engulfed a vehicle.  The blaze happened on Interstate 287 West in Purchase on Tuesday, Sept. 17 around 5:30 a.m., when an SUV caught on fire, according to the Purchase Fire Department.  Arriving crews found the vehicle in the right lane at mile marker 7.5 and soon put the fire out.  No injuries were reported and the vehicle was later towed from the area.

$32M Resurfacing Project Begins On I-287 In Westchester Work has commenced on a multi-million dollar project that will restore a well-used stretch of highway in Westchester, officials announced.  In an announcement this week, New York Gov. The rescue happened on Friday, April 26 just before 2 p.m., when a vehicle flipped on its side on Interstate 287 West in Harrison at milepost 6.5, according to the Purchase Fire Department.  Arriving first responders soon found that the driver was trapped inside the vehicle and began stabilizing it. A multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 in Westchester that closed all but one lane of traffic has been cleared, state police said. The crash, which included two passenger vehicles and two tractor-trailers, took place around 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, on the Thruway in Port Chester between exit 10 and 11, said Trooper Tara McCormick, spokeswoman for the New York State Police.
