Child-Care Worker Accused Of Force-Feeding Infant, Greenwich Police Say A 56-year-old child-care worker has been arrested for allegedly force-feeding an infant at a daycare center. Karen Von Tobel of Greenwich was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 12, following a months-long investigation by the Greenwich Police Department's Special Victim's Unit, said Capt. Robert Berry. Police were first notified on Oct. 23 by a caseworker from the Department of Children and Families of an incident that had taken place on Oct. 16, at a childcare facility in Greenwich, Berry said. Area Woman Held On Intentional Cruelty Charges A 40-year-old woman was arrested for intentional cruelty following a months-long investigation by the Special Victims Unit. Evelyn Stowell of Old Greenwich was arrested Monday, July 2 on a warrant and charged with intentional cruelty to persons, the risk of injury to a child, and assault, following the investigation which began in April, an arrest report says. Greenwich Police officials said due to the nature of the crime, they could not release additional information. Stowell is being held on $25,000 bond.
