Three family members who live in the same Northern Westchester household face numerous weapons charges after they were discovered to be in possession of nearly 50 illegal guns including semi-automatic rifles and machine guns, officials said. A police officer in Fairfield County charged with illegally possessing explosives and an assault weapon has been placed on leave. David Rivera of the New Canaan PD was charged on Thursday, April 28, in his hometown of Stratford after quantities of high explosives were found improperly stored in his home, said Joseph T. A 31-year-old man is facing charges after police said he was found to be in illegal possession of a handgun during a traffic stop in Northern Westchester County. Police arrested Steuben County resident Andrew Mancuso, of Greenwood, on Friday, March 4, according to New York State Police. A late-night traffic stop for an unregistered vehicle led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man in Westchester who was busted with an illegal handgun and ammo, police said. A traffic stop in Westchester led to the arrest of a man who was found in possession of an illegal semi-automatic weapon and cocaine, police said.
