Massive Search Underway After Person Jumps Off Bridge On Merritt Parkway Numerous crews are working to find a person who jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge, according to Connecticut State Police. State Police Sgt. Dwight Washington said the Coast Guard was on the scene as well as the Stratford Fire Department.  Washington said someone jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge around 2 p.m., Thursday, April 4, and that "a body was spotted floating in the water," he added. Flames shooting up in the air could be seen for miles after the blaze broke out around 1 a.m. Sunday at 320 Shore Road, east of I-95 and alongside the Housatonic River. No injuries were reported.
