For the second time in a one-week span, Frosty has pinged in the Atlantic, and it's apparently moving east. Measuring 9-feet, 2 inches, and weighing 393 pounds, Frosty pinged south of Hampton Bays at around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, May 13, according to the non-profit Ocearch group. A new ping was reported on Sunday, May 21 at about 4:30 a.m. in between Block Island and Martha's Vineyard. (See the first image above.) 10 Arrested In Massive NY Dogfighting Bust, DA Says Ten people were rescued and 89 dogs rescued following an investigation into an alleged interstate dogfighting ring on Long Island, the District Attorney announced. Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini announced the arrests on Monday, Aug. 9, as the ring allegedly operated in Manhattan, and several other states including homes on Long Island. 37-Foot Humpback Whale Found Dead On Beach In Hamptons There's an outpouring of sadness over news that a dead 37-foot female humpback whale washed up on a beach in the Hamptons. The whale was found on Cupsogue Beach County Park in Westhampton Beach, the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society in Hampton Bays announced on Sunday, May 5. IDs Released For Four On Plane That Crashed Off Long Island Coast The identities have been released of the four people on board a small plane that crashed during a thunderstorm late Saturday afternoon off of a beach on Long Island. Two bodies have been recovered. Coast Guard rescue crews, local agencies, fishing vessels, and shore units continue to search the area for the two missing passengers. The four are Bernard Krupinski, 70, a prominent East End builder, and his wife, Bonnie Krupinski, 70; as well as their grandson, William Maerov, 22 — all of East Hampton — and the pilot, Jon Dollard, 47, of Hampton Bays, East Hampton Police said.
