'I'm Still Trying To Process It All': NY Woman Claims $1M Lottery Prize
A New York woman has claimed a $1 million lottery prize. Bonnie Snell claimed the top prize from the New York Lottery's Treasure Hunt scratch-off game, the lottery reported on Thursday, Feb. 17. Snell is a resident of Fort Plain, a village in Montgomery County that's about 35 miles from Utica. “I’m still trying to process it all,” Snell told NY Lottery after claiming her prize. A Hudson Valley community still has the lowest vaccination rate in New York as the state looks to hit a 70 percent benchmark to lift most restrictions put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Monsey in Rockland County continues to lag behind the rest of the state, with a 17.8 percent vaccination rate as the state begins targeting the zip codes where there has been the most resistance to taking the vaccine. Former Trooper In Area Dies From Injuries Suffered In Crash
A New York State Trooper who began his career at the Middletown and Liberty state police barracks was killed in a motor vehicle crash when he was rear-ended by a box truck. Trooper Jeremy J. VanNostrand, 36, was killed around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday when reporting to work at the State Police barracks in Fonda when he was involved in the crash, announced New York State Police Superintendent George P.
