A New York man has claimed a "$1,000 A Day For Life" lottery prize from a ticket purchased in the Hudson Valley.
Osman Antonio Calderon Linarte, of Brooklyn, claimed the top prize from the Sunday, March 27, CASH4LIFE drawing, New York Lottery announced on Monday, May 2.
NY Lottery reported that the winning ticket was purchased in Dutchess County at Smokes 4 Less, which is located at 982 Main St. in Fishkill.
He received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $4,285,680 after required withholdings, NY Lottery reported.

An area man has been arrested for criminal possession of a weapon after being shot by police when he allegedly threatened them with a knife.
Dutchess County resident Michael Becerril, age 29, of Fishkill, was charged on Tuesday, March 8, by New York State Police.

24-Year-Old Soldier From Northern Westchester Killed In Off-Post Crash
A soldier from the Hudson Valley was killed in an off-post, single-vehicle crash in North Carolina.
Northern Westchester native Marcello L. Scrudato, a resident of Fishkill in Dutchess County since 2007, was 24 years old.
He died in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, Jan. 29 in Sanford, North Carolina, located near the Fort Bragg Army Base, where he was stationed.
