Power Lines Spark Fire At Northern Westchester Intersection
An electrical issue with power lines caused a blaze at a Northern Westchester intersection. The incident happened on Tuesday, May 21 around 4:30 p.m., when grass was reported to be on fire below power lines at the intersection of Somerstown Road and Vails Lane in New Castle, according to the Millwood Fire Department. Arriving fire crews soon determined the blaze had been sparked by an electrical issue and began keeping the flames controlled until Con Edison crews could take a look at the problem. Smoke Sighting Prompts Emergency Response At Shopping Center In Northern Westchester
Fire crews responded to a busy shopping center in Northern Westchester after receiving reports of smoke pouring from the building's roof. The incident happened on Wednesday, March 27 just after 7 p.m., when crews from the Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to the Towne Centre At Somers shopping mall for reports of smoke coming from the roof. Arriving crews soon found that they could not find any smoke or fire outside or within the building. After searching for around 40 minutes, the department eventually deemed the reports of smoke to be "good intent."

House Fire Causes Heavy Damage In Area
Fire and EMS battled a large house fire overnight that heavily damaged the home in the area. Mahopac Falls Fire and EMS were dispatched around 3:25 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23 to a home at 72 Mexico Lane, in Mahopac, said Jack Casey, public information officer for Mahopac Falls VFD. First arriving units confirmed a working fire and requested all equipment from both stations respond to the incident. Photos: Crews Work Quickly To Knock Down House Fire In Westchester
Multiple fire agencies worked quickly to knock down a potentially dangerous blaze that broke out in a Westchester home. First responders were dispatched to a Highland Avenue home in Eastchester that broke out in the afternoon on Monday, July 15. Crews from the Eastchester Police Department, Eastchester EMS, New Rochelle, Scarsdale and Greenville fire departments all responded to the scene and were able to knock down the flames and limit the damage done to the structure of the home. Firefighters Work Quickly To Knock Down Mother's Day Fire In Westchester
All hands were on deck on Mother’s Day when a blaze broke out at an area home, prompting a heavy response by local fire departments. Crews from the Tarrytown Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Arriving in minutes, Chief Patrick Derivan said that there was a heavy smoke condition, with the flames breaching through the roof. Fire Breaks Out At House In Northern Westchester
A home with an expansive view of the Hudson River was damaged by a fire that started in the chimney chase, according to the Mohegan Volunteer Fire Department. The fire started around 12:10 a.m. Thursday at the home on Forest Avenue in Cortlandt, the department said. Burnt Food At Popular Northern Westchester Deli/Market Brings Fire Department
Just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday a whole contingent of dedicated firefighters responded to a popular Westchester County deli and market for a fire call but found instead burnt food. South Salem and Vista fire department were dual dispatched to a reported structure fire at the 5th Division Deli in Cross River, the South Salem Fire Department said.
