Bomb Threat To DEC Office In Hudson Valley Under Investigation
State Police are investigating after a bomb threat was emailed to a government office. in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County on Monday, Nov. 4, at the State Department of Environmental Conservation, targeting the DEC Region 3 office in New Paltz. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers searched the building and did not find any explosive devices. The investigation into the threat is ongoing. A man is facing federal charges in connection with a series of bomb threats that were made against Jewish hospitals in New York. Domagoj Patkovic, age 31, of Portland, Oregon, is charged with making bomb threats and related offenses in an indictment that was unsealed in Oregon federal court on Tuesday, Aug. 20. According to prosecutors, Patkovic and others called in bomb threats to Jewish hospitals and care centers in New York City and on Long Island beginning in May 2021. Bottles With Explosive-Making Materials Found Outside NY School
Several bottles containing explosive-making devices were discovered just outside a New York elementary school. Officers on Long Island responded to a call for a suspicious item in the rear parking lot of Levy Lakeside School in Merrick, located on Babylon Road at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 24. The multiple plastic bottles containing explosive-making materials, one of which contained BBs, said police. A 49-year-old man was arrested after state police removed an explosive device from his Ridgefield home along with 16 assault weapons, 76 unregistered high-capacity magazines, and six silencers. Mark Albin was arrested on Thursday, March 28, after Ridgefield Police responded to a disturbance at 180 Tackora Trail at 12:30 a.m., said Ridgefield Police Capt. Shawn Platt. An explosive device was found in a mailbox at the Northern Westchester home of billionaire investor, business magnate and philanthropist George Soros on Monday afternoon, Bedford Police said.
