NY State To Increase Patrols During Holiday Weekend To Prevent Impaired Driving Law enforcement agencies across New York will increase patrols during the Thanksgiving weekend in an effort to prevent impaired and aggressive driving. Greenwich Police Officers Honored At MADD Event Four Greenwich Police officers were among those recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for going above and beyond the call of duty in the fight against drunk and drugged driving. Det. J.D. Smith and Master Police Officer Jeff Loock, both Drug Recognition Experts (DRE), were recognized for their contributions to the state's DRE program.  Drug Recognition Experts are law enforcement officers trained to identify people whose driving is impaired by drugs other than, or in addition to, alcohol.
