Those who have taken up America's fastest-growing sport will soon be able to make use of a new facility at a Northern Westchester shopping center. Sportime Pickleball is set to open a 30,000-square-foot pickleball center in the Yorktown Green Shopping Center on Downing Drive in Fall 2025. Road Closures Scheduled During Yorktown Holiday Light Parade
Santa Claus is coming to Yorktown this weekend, and he’s bringing a host of road closures for the annual Holiday Lights parade. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble announced that “to provide for the safety of parade participants and spectators,” there will be road closures beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. The parade is scheduled to begin on Front Street, near the Yorktown Highway Department, and will travel west on Underhill Avenue to the intersection with Commerce Street. Italian culture will be at the forefront in Yorktown as officials prepare for the popular annual Yorktown Feast of San Gennaro, leading to road closures in the area. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble announced that from 7 a.m. through noon beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 12, Commerce Street will be closed until Monday, Sept. 17. During the festivities, there will be no vehicular traffic between Downing Drive and Kear Street. Woman Charged With Violating Order Of Protection In Northern Westchester
A Dutchess County woman has been remanded into the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections after allegedly violating a Temporary Order of Protection issued in Putnam, according to police in Yorktown. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to the Kmart parking lot on Downing Drive, where there was a report of two people arguing in a vehicle.
