Greenwich Police Nab Violent Kidnapper Who Fled From Westchester County, Cops Say Police in Fairfield County nabbed a violent kidnapper who fled from Westchester County after committing the alleged crime. The incident took place in Greenwich early Thursday, Sept. 21. According to Lt. Patrick Smyth, of the Greenwich Police, the department was notified by authorities in Westchester that police pursued a suspected wanted in a kidnapping and assault with a gun in Rye and had crossed state lines into the Town of Greenwich.  The suspect, identified as Daniel Patrick Twomey, age 39, of Lodi, New Jersey, was believed to be armed and dangerous, Smyth said. Joseph Heffner, aka “JC”, age 42, of Greenwich, surrendered to Greenwich Police at 11 am Thursday, June 2, after learning that there was a warrant for his arrest. Cos Cob Man, 60, Killed When Motorcycle Crashes Into Sign In Ridgefield A 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Northern Fairfield County. The crash happened just after 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1 on a stretch of Route 35 in Ridgefield, police said. The victim, identified as John Lienhardt, 60, of Cos Cob, was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle went off the roadway, striking a road sign, Ridgefield Police said. He was then treated at the scene and transported to the Danbury Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.

Cos Cob Man Resists Arrest After Physical Assault, Police Say A Cos Cob man is behind bars after resisting arrest following a physical assault, said Greenwich Police. The incident took place around 3 a.m. Sunday when police responded to call of a physical assault on Post Road in Cos Cob, the arrest report said. According to the report, Frank Molina, 34, failed to comply with officer's instructions and “confronted officers in an aggressive manner.”  He was forcibly restrained while being handcuffed, the report added. Molina was charged with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
