Westchester Hoops Players Make All-State Teams

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The New York State Sportswriters Association released its all-state basketball teams for 2012 and several Westchester players made the list.

Mount Vernon’s Isaiah Cousins led the way as he made the Class AA First Team. Cousins, who will attend Oklahoma University next season, led the Knights to a 23-3 record and the Class AA state championship. He averaged 15.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and three steals per game.

Cousins’ teammates, Randy Stephens and Jarrel Marshall, earned honors on the fifth and sixth teams, respectively. Fox Lane standout Will Trawick made the sixth team.

Kennedy Catholic’s Thiago Randazzo and Peekskill’s Chandler Pierce led the Class A group as each made the third team. Eastchester’s Dave Solano made the sixth team and Byram Hills’ Jeff Lynch made the eighth team.
