Players from Chappaqua, Pleasantville and South Salem in Westchester as well as New Canaan and Redding in Connecticut will be on the Tufts sideline when it meets Salisbury in the Division III championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Baltimore.
Dan Leventhal, a senior defenseman from Chappaqua and Horace Greeley High, has started 21 games for the Jumbos (20-2). He has 12 goals and 17 points.
Ben Andreycak, a sophomore from Pleasantville who played at Fordham Prep, has 18 goals and 28 points and has played in all 22 games.
Zack Waldman, a senior defenseman from South Salem and John Jay, Curt Townshend, a sophomore from New Canaan (Conn.), and Redding (Conn.) freshman Mike Mattson (Taft) are also members of the Tufts team.
Dan Feeney, a junior goalie from Greenwich (Conn.), Thomas Cirillo of Eastchester, a sophomore midfielder and Kevin McDermott, a freshman from Cortlandt Manor and Hendrick Hudson, are members of the Salisbury squad. Cirillo has 26 goals in 22 games for Salisbury, while Feeney has played in four games. McDermott has five goals in seven games.
There are also area connections in the Division II championship game as LIU Post plays Limestone College of South Carolina. The Division II finish is Sunday at 4 p.m.
LIU’s roster includes sophomore Adam Winne from Ridgefield, Conn.; Connor Mackay from Lakeland High and Shrub Oak; Robby Cegielski, a junior from Somers and Yorktown Heights; his brother, John, a sophomore; and Michael Pristouris, a sophomore from Danbury, Conn. There are no area players at Limestone.
The Division I men’s semifinals are Saturday in Baltimore. Pelham’s Matt Landis, Bronxville’s Jack Near and Norwalk’s Zack Bartolo are members of Final Four contestant Notre Dame. From Connecticut, Darien’s Case Matheis and Greenwich’s Charlie Payton and Teddy Henderson join Katonah’s Reed Maxmin as Duke players. Darien (Conn.) grads Henry West and Eric Parnon are members of Maryland’s team, and Norwalk (Conn.) resident Colin Woolford is at Denver.
Duke meets Denver on Saturday at 1 p.m., while Notre Dame meets Maryland at 3:30.
