Valhalla Softball Heads to State Final Four

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – The Valhalla Vikings softball team has earned the two wins needed on Tuesday to put it in the state final four.

The Vikings beat Babylon, 8-6, in the regional finals at Rhinebeck High School to advance to the state semifinals. Valhalla's Jade Fummerelli robbed a base hit in the bottom of the seventh inning for the first out to help keep Babylon from scoring.

Valhalla defeated Section 9 champion Highland, 3-1, in the first game. Highland loaded the bases in the ninth inning to put the tying run on second base with two outs, but the Vikings worked out of the jam to secure the win.
