Somers Resident Plans American Heart Association Tennis Tourney In Armonk

ARMONK, N.Y. -- When Somers resident Herman Slotoroff, 94, recovered from having by-pass heart surgery in 1993 he founded an annual tennis tournament, which this year will be held Monday, May 2 at the Armonk Tennis Club.

The fundraiser for the American Heart Association has raised over $500,00 since its founding.

The 23rd Annual Round Robin Doubles By-Pass-Open Tennis Tournament is open to players who raise a minimum of $100 through sponsorship donations. Those who raise more will receive prizes.

A complimentary low fat breakfast and lunch will be provided at the event.

All checks should be made payable to: American Heart Association and mailed to By-Pass-Open, P.O. Box 950, Mount Kisco, NY 10549.
