Register for County's Summer Learn-to-Swim Program

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Westchester County’s Learn-to-Swim program registration opens on June 16 at Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains and Tibbetts Brook Pool in Yonkers.

The instructional classes will take place in July and August and will be taught according to Red Cross guidelines. All ages, from toddler to senior citizen, are eligible to take part.

Pre-school children ages three to five can take the class on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. from July 11 to Aug. 4. All children must have an adult with them.

Children ages six to eight are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. from July 10 to Aug. 2. Classes for children ages nine to 12 are also on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. from July 10 to Aug. 2.

The adult and teen class for ages 13 and up will meet Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. from July 10 to Aug. 3.

Registration for the classes is on a first-come, first-serve basis and costs $75, which includes pool admission fees for the participant. Those who register must do so at the pool where they want to take the classes.

Adults and teens must bring a valid Westchester County Resident Park Pass to the lessons, and children under 12 must have a parent or guardian with such a pass.
