Whippoorwill Swim Team Loses to Ossining

ARMONK, N.Y. – The Ossining Spartans defeated Whippoorwill Country Club, 260-188, in their recent swim meet in Armonk. 

The Spartans swept every race except two backstroke and fly events and three breaststroke and freestyle events.

“It was a great way to start off what we consider to be the fun part of our season,” said Ossining coach Mike Kane. “It was a great opportunity for kids and families to enjoy the sport in a beautiful, outdoor, country club setting.”

Ossining swims in meets throughout July in the Northern Westchester Swim Conference. The swimmers train daily in six lanes at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center.

The Spartans went undefeated in Division 5 last season. They moved up to Division 4 this season and will face Division 4 teams until the NWSC Championships later this summer.

The following swimmers won blue ribbons for Ossining against Whippoorwill: Keila Alvarez, Katelyn Browne, Serafina Capasso, Alex Carrazzone, Katie Flynn, Matias Gomez, Sarah Kamal, Yousef Kamal, Stella Meyerhoeffer, Vlad Moise, Sammy Novo, Thomas Overacker, Lilly Pawliczak, Emily Rocco, Rachael Samuels, Emma San Martin, Nico San Martin, Dan Schatz and Tara Tassio.
