Little League Softball State Final Four Will Be Coming To Area

Some of the best Little League softball teams from around the state will go toe-to-toe next week in the Hudson Valley.

The venues for the state final four games will be the Gurnee Avenue Complex (shown here) and the Manny Lopez Softball Complex in Haverstraw.

Haverstraw Little League will play host to the New York State Little League Senior Softball State Finals from Thursday, July 14 through Tuesday, July 19.

Twelve teams featuring girls ages 13 though 16 are expected to vie for the title at the Gurnee Avenue Complex and the Manny Lopez Softball Complex. Haverstraw has run hosted and organized this event in the past.

“We have the experience to run this event and we are prepared and ready," Haverstraw Little League President Kevin Reilly said.

Roughly 150 softball players, their families, friends are expected to arrive in Haverstraw for the week of games, county Softball Commissioner Mary Corretjer said.

The winner of the tournament will advance to the Senior Softball World Series.
