Westlake High School Coach John Castellano was presented with a $2,000 award and an award ball, according to the Jets. He also has been invited to watch the Jets plan the Tennessee Titans on Dec. 13.
Castellano, currently coaching his 28th season of high school football and his first at Westlake High, previously coached at Nyack High School, where his teams won Class A state championships in 2000 and 2003.
Castellano came to Westlake after serving as head varsity football coach at Poughkeepsie High School.
The rest of his tenure in Nyack includes 15 league titles, five regional titles, two Section 1 Coach of the Year awards and two New York State Coach of the Year awards.
Westlake defeated the Nanuet Golden Knights 6-0 on Nov. 7 to capture the school's first Section 1 Class B title since 1983.
