Westchester Giants Fans Snap Up Super Bowl Memorabilia

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Giants fans wasted little time getting to the Modell's store in Cortlandt Town Center Sunday night in order to snag some championship merchandise.

As soon as the Giants won Sunday night's Super Bowl 46 with a 21-17 win over the New England Patriots, store manager Eli Garcia said fans were waiting for the store to reopen immediately after the game and the line to buy merchandise snaked around the store.

"I actually had someone waiting before the game was over," Garcia said. "He was watching the last minutes on his iPad and as soon as the game was over he was the first person in and 30 seconds after him I had someone else come in."

Longtime area Giants fan Charlie Eichenberg said Sunday's victory was particularly sweet considering the rocky start the Giants season had.

"In fifty years of being a Giant fan this is our best victory - the best!," Eichenberg said. "Not only beating Brady, but just winning a Super Bowl when no one though we'd even get there."

Fellow Giants fan James Lenahan said he knew the Giants were going all the way before they even made the playoffs.

"Since week 15 on Twitter I rode the bandwagon," Lenahan said. "Back when [ESPN personality] Skip Bayliss started his Tim Tebow bandwagon." It's a beautiful victory."
