Suffern (16-2-2) and Brewster (18-2) were awarded the No. 1 seeds in Division 1 and Division 2, respectively, for the Section 1 Ice Hockey Championships.
The Division I tournament begins Sunday with Suffern and second-seeded Eastchester/Tuckahoe/Bronxville (17-3) receiving byes. Eastchester/Tuckahoe/Bronxville closed the season with a nine-game winning streak.
New Rochelle, the third seed, opens with No. 14 Lakeland/Panas and fourth-seeded Mamaroneck hosts No. 13 Carmel at the Hommocks.
The Division II tournament will drop the puck Monday with three first-round games. Defending champion Pelham (13-5-2) is seeded second, John Jay-Cross River is third and Rye is fourth.
The championship games are scheduled for Sunday, 1:30 p.m. (Division 1) and 4 p.m. (Division 2) at West Point. If the seeds hold, Suffern would play Eastchester/Tuckahoe/Bronxville for the title. The teams played once during the regular season with Suffern winning, 8-0.
In Division 2, Brewster and Pelham did not meet during the regular season.
