Armonk's Young Mr. Gluckman Takes Home Awards

Each time six-year-old Zachary Gluckman heard his name announced, a smile filled his face.

Gluckman wore out a path to the awards table, winning three first-place ribbons, a second-place ribbon and a third-place trophy at the eighth annual Armonk Baseball League Memorial Day Classic at the Town of North Castle Community Park.

After receiving each ribbon and the trophy, Gluckman thanked the prsenters, walked back and handed it to his proud father, David. The four ribbons and trophy Gluckman won were the most among the pee-wee division baseball skills competition.

“I had a lot of fun today,” said Gluckman, a kindergartner at Coman Hill School. “I liked hitting the best.” Gluckman was the first-place finisher in the speed throw, base running and accurate throw competitions. He finished second in the distance throw and was third in home run derby.
