Pace's College Fed Challenge Team Makes National Headlines

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University's championship-winning College Fed Challenge team has been recognized for its success in handling monetary policy. The team, along with the financial competition, was profiled earlier this week in a Wall Street Journal article.

After taking home first place in the New York regional tournament last November, the team of economic students headed to Washington, D.C. where they beat out colleges from across the nation to win the national championship.

The College Fed Challenge is a competition designed to bring real-world economics into the classroom. Teams play the role of monetary policymakers by analyzing economic conditions and recommending a course for monetary policy.

According to the article, the winning Pace students were treated to a tour of the Federal Reserve building, explored the bank's boardroom and even posed for selfies with Janet Yellen, Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
