OCA, Pace Invite Young Voters To 'Meet The Candidates'

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- This election, Pace University is giving student voters the chance to interact with those running for office better than ever before. At the annual Westchester County 'Meet the Candidates' event, students will be able to speak with candidates, learn about their political views, and understand how the officials intend to represent the population while in office.

The event will be held on Oct. 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Kessel Student Center's Multi-Purpose Room on Pace's Pleasantville campus. The evening is sponsored by the Organization of Chinese Americans in collaboration with Pace University’s Project Pericles as well as the Center for Communication Action and Research.

'Meet the Candidates' is a presentation of those running for elected offices in the area, and provides an opportunity for Asian Americans and all individuals interested in politics to meet and have a meaningful dialogue with those seeking election.

Among the elected officials expected to attend are Bruce Bendish, who is running for Westcehster District Attorney, Pace alumna and State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, as well as Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer.
