Four Westchester County School Districts Ranked Among Nation's Best

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County has risen to the head of the class as having one of the best counties in the nation for students to learn.

The Scarsdale Union Free School District was among four Westchester County districts named to Niche's top 15 in the nation.

Westchester had four of its school districts named among the top 15 in the United States in TheStreet.com's list, including the nation’s highest-rated district in Edgemont. Also earning high marks were Chappaqua Central School District (No. 10), Rye City School District (No. 8) and Scarsdale Union Free School District (No. 5), according to a breakdown compiled by thestreet.com.

Rankings are determined using data from government and public data sets, the website’s own proprietary data and more than four million opinion-based survey responses from more than 280,000 students, recent alumni and parents.

For Edgemont, it was the second straight year the Westchester County district took home top honors, with an A+ for academics and A’s for student culture and diversity, as well as for resources and facilities.
