Byram Hills Board of Education to Discuss Budget

ARMONK, N.Y. – The Byram Hills Board of Education will have a budget hearing at its meeting Tuesday night, the final preliminary budget meeting before the budget is set to be adopted April 3.

Tuesday’s meeting will review the administration’s proposed budget for 2012-2013 with public comments welcome.

The last two meetings reviewed individual segments of the proposed budget, including curriculum, technology, transportation, athletics and special education. Every department will maintain programs with minor changes.

The total budget for the 2012-13 school year is about $80.4 million, a 2.2 percent increase from the current budget with a tax levy increase of 1.7 percent, which will stay below the 2 percent levy cap mandated by the state.

Tuesday's meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at the district office on Tripp Lane.
