ARMONK, N.Y. The freshman class of Byram Hills doesnt make up the only new faces in the halls of the high school. The Byram Hills Board of Education welcomed two new faces this month who have accepted positions in the high school.
Sean Dolinar will become the new Byram Hills High School psychologist and John Clark will be a new special education teacher. Both teachers began this week as their first in the high school.
Assistant Superintendent Jennifer Lamia spoke highly of both candidates at a recent board of education meeting.
One of Seans neighboring school supervisors described him as the best school psychologist theyve ever had, Lamia said of Dolinar, who previously worked in the Bedford Central School District.
Clark is a special education teacher certified to teach biology. Lamia added that he also has pending certifications in earth science and social studies and that his versatility will be a valuable asset to the school.
Were so excited because its such a valuable resource to have a special education teacher with so many qualifications, Lamia said, who added that Clark is also an Eagle Scout, which could also be valuable in the classroom.
Both Dolinar and Clark begin their time in Byram Hills on a three-year probationary period that started Aug. 28.
The board also appointed Brett Summer and Jean Gilroy to positions in the high school. Brett Summer will be a new school monitor and Jean Gilroy will be a teacher-leave replacement in Byram Hills English department until Nov. 4.
