7 Byram Hills Students Up For National Merit Scholarships

ARMONK, N.Y. – Seven seniors from Byram Hills High School have qualified as semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, placing them within the top 1 percent of test takers out of 1.5 million students nationwide.

Jonathan Bohrer, Jonathan Bricker, Jennifer Gold, Andrew Kim, Lance Mack, Connor O’Day and Brook Robbins were all recognized as semifinalists.

The students qualified for the national scholarship program through their scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The seven Byram Hills students will now submit applications to become finalists and award winners. The application process looks at each student’s academic record, participation in school and community activities, and leadership abilities, as well as honors and awards received.

In the end, about 8,300 students nationwide will receive the honor.
