Westchester Agent Stays on Top of Her Game

Hope Mazzola, a real estate agent with The Hope Mazzola Group, William Raveis - New York, LLC in Katonah, approaches life with the energy and determination of an athlete. Which isn't a surprise when you learn that she played semi-pro volleyball until the birth of her first son 15 years ago.

For the past three years, Hope has been the top agent in Katonah. She credits repeat business from satisfied clients with keeping her at the top of her game. Drawing on the skills she learned in her career in advertising to help build her business, she understands that "you have to spend money to make money." She uses every marketing tool available to promote her brand. With the recent dip in the housing market, her tag line "You've Gotta Have Hope," tells clients that they're in good hands.

Hope started in real estate in 2002. She had moved to Bedford Hills when she married her husband, Jim Mazzola, but continued working in New York. Soon it became increasingly difficult to balance the job, commute into New York and manage her toddlers, Aaron and Jared. Pregnant with her third boy, Evan, she decided to find work closer to home. She got her real estate license and hasn't looked back.

Armed with her new qualification, Hope called all her friends to tell them she was a real estate agent. "You have to have confidence and believe in yourself," she says, adding that she had no qualms about asking experienced agents for help. Now, she enjoys helping new agents get started.

Hope doesn't let slow times get her down. When business is quiet, she tries new marketing techniques. But even when work is slow, Hope's daily life moves at breakneck speed. Her sons inherited her athletic genes and are all outstanding soccer players. She is involved in the soccer organizations and attends all their games, which included a recent trip to watch Aaron and Jared play in Italy.

Life has worked out well for Hope. She loves her job and her family gives her nothing but pleasure. "Every time is the best time in my life," she says.
