Rand Reports Increased Sales, Stable Prices

Joseph Rand, managing partner of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate and Rand Realty, has issued the company's third quarter market report

The report indicates the real estate market in Westchester and the Hudson Valley has moved into a stable buyer's market after several years of turbulence created by distortions of the market from the financial crisis of late 2008, and the home buyer tax credit of 2009-10.

Throughout the region, sales were up significantly over the previous year. Prices have been stable at 2004 levels for the last three years.

Rand expects that sales and prices will drop slightly in the fourth quarter, but that the market will have its normal resurgence in the spring.
