Marianne Cuomo is new to the real estate business but not new to working closely with clients. With a quarter of a century of experience in the advertising and marketing fields, she said she has always worked to help meet clients needs.
The skills I had are working well for what I am doing now," Cuomo said. She pointed to communication, follow through and customer service as just a few of the ways she is putting her past to work in her present field.
When the recent economy caused her department to downsize, Cuomo decided a career change was the way to go. Always interested in real estate, she joined RE/MAX Ace Realty in Pleasantville because she felt she would receive the support she needed as a licensed real estate salesperson.
This is exactly what I needed, she said. I dont feel like that flapping fish out of water. I have the help I need. She continued, the team is great here and they all support each other.
Cuomo said although the real estate market is challenging in the current economy, she is hopeful. Things are going to get better, she said. People need places to live. The next generation is going to move forward. The older sect is going to need to go on to their next home. It is just a matter of time.
Cuomo has spent most of her adult life in Westchester. She and her son, Gregory, like the Town of Mamaroneck, where they currently live. She is also handling real estate projects from her native Bronx to all over southern Westchester.
As a new agent, she has stories that range from nervous buyers to a client that searched all over and went back to rent the first unit he looked at. She said she understands why a purchase or rental can be a challenging decision. They havent done this 100 times, she said.
