State Budget Deal On Minimum Wage, Family Leave Near, Cuomo Says

Gov. Andrew Cuomo expects the state to have a budget in hand before the Friday deadline, according to multiple reports.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday that he and legislative leaders have reached a conceptual agreement on a budget, but that finer details still need to be worked out. The fiscal year starts Friday, April 1.

Cuomo told reporterss Tuesday that he and legislators were nearing an agreement that would hike minimum wages and expand paid family leave for workers.

Cuomo also said that lawmakers would likely give the thumbs-down to tuition increases at SUNY, The Albany Times-Union said.
