Latimer, who took office last week, was the keynote speaker at the Westchester County Association's annual breakfast at the Westchester Marriot in Tarrytown.
The new county executive pledged to work across the aisle and practice bipartisanship.
“We have to work across the aisle out of necessity, or we will not succeed," Latimer said.
Latimer said the country was living through a difficult time, but said he remains optimistic given the quality of life offered in Westchester.
He said the county remains aggressive in courting Amazon to bring its second headquarters to Westchester and wants to see an increase in shared services.
