Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, said he will not be running for governor of New York in 2018, ending a week of speculation.

Trump Jr. said Monday that while he won't be running for governor, he has not ruled out running for higher office in the future.

While his father works in The White House, Trump, Jr. and his brother Eric are running The Trump Organization.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is up for re-election in 2018. Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, Cuomo's Republican opponent in 2014, and Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro are reportedly considering running against Cuomo.

President Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor.

The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
