A Westchester man was killed in a crash on Central Avenue in Yonkers, according to the Yonkers Police.
Joseph Fragano, 46, of White Plains was killed around 8:33 p.m. Tuesday after crashing his Buick sedan into a utility pole, bringing down the pole's transformer and wires, according to Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.
Fragano was traveling northbound in the vicinity of 800 Central Park Ave., when he sideswiped another vehicle and crashed into the pole, according to police.
Two good Samaritans pulled him from the vehicle and officers began CPR as Empress Ambulance expedited their response, Politopoulos said.
Fragano was taken to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
"At this time, the accident does not appear to be suspicious or criminal in nature," Politopoulos said. "Further investigative results are pending an examination by the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office."
