'Well-Loved Fixture' Hospitalized After Being Struck By Car In Westchester

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Paul Golio of Dobbs Ferry, the receptionist at Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital, has been hospitalized after he was hit be a car on Thursday.

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner, who called the amateur ventriloquist and actor "well-loved local fixture" and "one of the nicest people you could know," said Golio was hit head-on by a car while walking across Ashford Avenue in Dobbs Ferry.

Golio was seriously injured, including injuries to his head and spinal cord, and numerous broken bones. 

A Go Fund Me account has been started by his friends and family to help pay his rent and other expenses during his recovery, according to Feiner. It can be accessed by clicking online here:

As of Monday, more than $32,000 had been raised for Golio.
