At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Sunday May 7, police received a report that there had been a road rage incident in the parking lot at CVS on Main Street, and the caller had followed the suspect to his home.
According to police, the caller reported that the second driver had hit his car with a tire iron following a dispute at CVS. He then followed the suspect to Cox Avenue, residence where he waited for police to arrive.
Officers spoke to both parties and witness depositions were secured from each. The situation is ongoing and police said that a report is to follow.
Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Friday, May 8 through Thursday, May 11 include:
- Police are investigating a damaged utility junction box that may have been struck by an unknown vehicle. Last week, police responded to the intersection of Hickory Kingdom Road and East Middle Patent Road, where there was a damaged box reported. Police said that the entire pole may have been struck by a vehicle and are looking into the incident.
- On Saturday, May 6, police helped reunite a lost dog with its worried family. Officers were alerted to a black and tan mixed-breed dog running around on Perry Court, which was transported back to police headquarters. Later that day, the family was contacted and reunited with their pet.
- Later that day, at approximately 4:50 p.m., police spoke with a Fox Ridge Road homeowner, who received a call from All Time Detection that an alarm was activated at his residence. Police then spoke with the dispatchers, who said there was a motion activation sensor in the foyer. Officers investigated the residence and found it secured upon arrival.
- Shortly before 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, a Smith Farm Road resident returned home and reported to police that he found his garage and backyard gate open, which was “unusual and unexpected, since nobody had permission to be on his property at any point” during the day. Officers responded to the residence and reported that it was safe and untouched.
- On Wednesday morning, multiple callers reported to police that there was an injured hawk in the roadway on Whippoorwill Road East. Upon arrival, the animal had moved out of the roadway. Its condition was not available on Thursday.
- Police issued a warning to a Rock Cliff Place resident on Wednesday, after a neighbor complained that a drone was being flown above her and her neighbors’ homes. Police said that the woman reported the drone was flying in close proximity to the residences, windows and vehicles in the area. Officers tracked down the owner of the drone and advised him to keep it away from his neighbors.
