The construction workers fell through the roof in Building 26, where a pool and gym are under construction, according to Barbara LaColla, public affairs specialist for the Montrose VA .The site was secured and only contractors were allowed entry, LaColla said. The contractors were aware the roof was in a comprised state, LaColla said.
The VA said they are investigating whether the contractors followed safety precautions, Lacolla said. LaColla did not know the severity of the injuries.
