Information developed on Friday has now focused the search efforts to the confines of New York City, where Lopez has ties, police said.

The 5-foot-6, 140-pound Lopez was last seen at approximately 5 p.m. on March 14 wearing blue jeans and a gray jacket. Edward, who is black with brown eyes, has a gray beard and a large gray afro.

It is estimated that over 280 people and multiple K-9 units have been utilized to search over 1,500 acres on foot, an additional 1,000=plus acres by air and ATV/UTV, and Hunns Lake was completely searched by the NYSP SCUBA unit.

“Since the report on Monday, search teams have worked tirelessly in an effort to locate Mr. Lopez," Captain Dominick L. Chiumento, Troop K Zone 2 Commander, said. "The assistance and cooperation that we received from all agencies was tremendous.

"The abilities and efforts of the State Forest Rangers was such a critical asset in this search endeavor. Our efforts will now focus in New York City with our Troopers assigned there as well as our other law enforcement partners. I have to give a special thanks to the residents of the Town of Stanford for their patience and cooperation, with deep appreciation to the Stanford Fire Company No. 1 and all its members for the hospitality that they showed in opening up their entire station for our command post.”

The New York State Police still requests the public to be aware that Mr. Lopez remains missing and if he is sighted, people should call 845-677-7300.
