Man, 26, Driving 97 MPH On I-87 Charged With DWI, Police Say

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Interstate 87 after Troopers spotted him traveling at 97 mph early Tuesday morning, according to New York State Police.

Daniel P. Gross, 26, lead troopers on a short pursuit before losing control and getting stuck in the median. Gross' blood alcohol content was determined to be .20 percent, more than twice the legal limit, police said.

Gross was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and unlawfully fleeing a police officer. He is scheduled to return to Yonkers City Court on Tuesday, Jan. 26, police said.
