Hudson Valley Man Identified As Bear Mountain Bridge Jumper

A Rockland County man has been identified as the person who jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge on Wednesday, according to the New York State Police.

Michael R. Hirsch, 67, of New City jumped from the bridge around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. His body was recovered at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday, said Trooper Melissa McMorris told Daily Voice.

The State Police were assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Marine Boat and the New York State Park Police.
