Coach Involved With Area Wrestling Charged With Luring Teen Into Sex

A volunteer wrestling coach who has been involved in programs in Rockland, Westchester, and Bergen (N.J.) counties has been charged with molesting a teenage boy, according to Clarkstown police.

Marcus Stroud, 18, of Nyack, lured the victim, whom he knew through a wrestling program, to engage in sex acts through the use of the Snapchat app, and other social media outlets, police said.

The victim’s parents reported the alleged incidents to police.

Stroud has been charged with second-degree criminal sexual act, a felony; second-degree sex abuse, a misdemeanor; sexual misconduct, a misdemeanor; and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said

Stroud was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and taken to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, police said.

Police say they are concerned that there may be other victims and are asking parents, who have children in programs involving the suspect, to talk to their kids.
